WINTERSUN IN SICILY

SOFT WINTER LIGHT BETWEEN VOLCANO, BAROQUE AND SEA BREEZE

from February 17 to 22, 2027

Experiencing Sicily in winter – gentle winter sun, quiet streets, plenty of time for photography.

Winter sun in Sicily – calm island moments instead of winter gray

Imagine waking up on a mild February morning with 61 degrees Fahrenheit and a clear blue sky. Winter in Sicily shows itself from its very best side. Together we head out on a photo discovery tour, where you experience the island’s calm and authenticity in winter. The cities are almost empty, and the long lines in front of major sights have disappeared.

Discovering Sicily in silence and authenticity

We stroll across the colorful markets of Catania, breathe in the crisp air of the Etna Regional Park, and admire the snow‑capped summit of the mighty volcano. In the magnificent baroque cities of Syracuse and Noto, we step back into times long past. In the picturesque fishing village of Marzamemi, we let the fresh sea breeze brush our faces – moments of pure relaxation that we capture in our images.

Culinary delights in the Sicilian winter

With Mediterranean Sicilian cuisine and the fine wines of the region, we let ourselves be spoiled and savor the special flair of the Sicilian winter – full of peace, pleasure, and light. For me, this is one of the most beautiful times of year to experience Sicily. Come along, and we’ll share the winter sun, the Southern Italian way of life, and plenty of space for photography on the island.

MARTINA

WINTERSUN IN PALERMO

I stumbled upon Ulrike’s website, Reiseundfotografie.de, quite by chance. The “Winter Sun in Palermo” photography tour really sparked my interest, so I booked it right away. Ulrike speaks Italian very well and with passion, and she has excellent local knowledge of Palermo and its surroundings. With her open, easygoing manner, she designed a varied daily itinerary tailored specifically to our small photography group.

We experienced and enjoyed Italian cuisine thanks to Ulrike’s excellent selection of restaurants and bars. During the week, we had time to capture many beautiful moments and subjects at different times of day. Unfortunately, the trip ended far too quickly. I will book another photography tour with you. Thank you so much.

First things first: I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip with Ulrike Rios. She loves what she does, and you can tell right away. Her professional planning, executed with a pleasant ease, ensures there’s never a moment of stress or boredom.

The itinerary offers a diverse range of impressive architecture, scenic beauty, and authentic Sicilian life. With Ulrike as my “tour guide,” I not only saw a great deal in a short time but also gained a very special perspective on Sicily. Thank you! I’d love to come back soon!
